Bluffton girls soccer: Late win vs. Liberty Center 

The Pirates can repeat as outright champions with a win or tie

The Bluffton High School girls soccer team made the long trip to face non-conference foe Liberty Center count Thursday evening, September 28, as they scored late to win 2-1.

The Pirate girls improved to 9-4-1 with the big road victory, while the Tigers fell to 5-8 after the loss. 

Pirate Ella Armstrong scored in the ninth minute with an assist from Mya McDougle that put Bluffton ahead 1-0. 

The game stayed 1-0 to intermission and for about 41 total minutes into the second half. 

LC then tied it 1-1 in the 50th minute on a goal by Calleigh Stoner.

But Pirate Jasmine Hasting untied it and tallied the game-winner in the 69th minute.

Bluffton put half of their 12 shots on goal. Seven of the eight LC shots were on target.

Pirate goalkeeper Kynzie Ewing made six saves, compared to four stops by the Lady Tiger keeper. 

Bluffton hosts non-league foe Kalida (4-4-3) Saturday, September 30 at 10 a.m. 

Bluffton (5-0 NWC) then entertains rival Columbus Grove (5-4, 3-1 NWC) in their Northwest Conference finale showdown Tuesday, October 3.
