Sue Ann Cox owned and operated Riley Creek Mercantile
Sue Ann Cox, 62, passed away April 30, 2024 at the Cleveland Clinic. Sue was born September 1, 1961 in Bluffton to the late James and Esther (Schumacher) Anderson. On November 20, 1982 she married Larry Cox and he survives.
Sue graduated from Cory-Rawson High School, received her associate's degree in mechanical engineering from Lima Tech and obtained her master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Findlay.
She owned and operated the Tired Iron and later owned and operated Riley Creek Mercantile. Sue had also worked at the University of Findlay as an administrative assistant and also Inspection Engineering where she was a sales person.
She was a lifelong active member of Bethel Church of Christ where she played the piano and led the praise team for many years. Sue was active with Lifeline Christian Mission, going on numerous mission trips to Haiti. She enjoyed canning, gardening, the outdoors, trips to Dale Hollow Lake and going down to the creek with her grandchildren. Sue always left her grandchildren by saying, "I love you, Jesus loves you, you are special."
Survivors include her husband, Larry Cox of Bluffton, her children, Andy (Brandy) Cox of Bluffton, April (Chad) Lieb of Mt. Cory, Shelby (Levi) Kiene of Columbus Grove; nine grandchildren, Emma, Braxton and Colton Lieb, Kyndal and Kymber Cox, Rhett, Charlotte, Hank and Caroline Kiene; two brothers, Mike (Donna) Anderson of Meridian, Idaho, Gary (Connie) Anderson of Bluffton; two sisters, Kristine (Samuel) Beadle of Hartselle, Alabama, Kathy (Dave) Steiner of Bluffton and a sister-in-law, Kim Anderson of Bluffton.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Randy Anderson.
Sue's services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 6, 2024 at Bethel Church of Christ, 4014 County Road 304, Ada with Pastor Randy Allen officiating. Burial will be in Thompson Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Sunday, May 5, 2024 from 1:00-6:00 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton and one hour prior to the service at the church.
