Bluffton Hospital ER sees 6,000 people in a typical 12-month period

While most of Bluffton shuts down after midnight, one important community service never closes.

It’s Bluffton Hospital’s Emergency Room.

Its traditional busy times are from 3 to 11 p.m., but the door is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

While many reading this story may have used the ER – even at some odd hours – here’s some details most persons in the hospital service area may not realize.

Dr. Cheri Diller is Bluffton's newest general practitioner

Accepting new patients at Bluffton Primary Care

Pandora native Dr. Cheri Diller, M.D., general practitioner, has joined Bluffton Primary Care and is the newest physician in the community.

Bluffton Primary Care is located at 161 Garau St., in the former offices of Dr. Woodruff.

She joins Dr. Leah Eiden, M.D., who also has a practice in the building. Bluffton Primary Care, part of Blanchard Valley Medical Practices, opened earlier this fall after a building renovation and held its official ribbon cutting on Dec. 4.

In opening her family practice, Dr. Diller is accepting new patients.

First LINX reflux device implant in northwest Ohio completed

Jessica Reynolds, MD, of Surgical Associates of Northwest Ohio, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System, completed the first LINX Reflux Device implant in Northwest Ohio at Blanchard Valley Hospital.

“This new advancement revolutionizes the surgical treatment of reflux disease,” shared Kelly Shroll, president of Blanchard Valley Medical Practices. “We are glad we can provide this minimally invasive option to our patients and believe this procedure will improve the overall quality of life for our patients suffering from gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).”

Bridge Bereavement Services hosting Living Through Loss “Will it be a Blue Christmas”

Bridge Bereavement Services will offer a presentation that focuses on how individuals can prepare for the holidays while allowing themselves to grieve in a healthy manner on Monday, Dec. 18, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Marathon Auditorium at Blanchard Valley Hospital, 1900 S. Main St., Findlay.

The presentation is free, open to the public and registration is not required.

Attendees will be provided with the tools and assistance necessary to create a luminary to light in honor and remembrance of their loved one, if they choose to do so.
