Jan. 6 – Liam Tyler Young, son of Madison and Branden Young, Findlay
Jan. 11 – Everett Henry Black, son of Tyler and Muriel Black, Bluffton
Jan. 14 – Raiden Jaxtyn Silas Tijerina, son of Carmen Balcarcel and Nathan Tijerina, Leipsic

Beyond MedSpa birthday bash Wednesday in Findlay

Beyond MedSpa, 2113 Tiffin Ave Suite A, Findlay, will be hosting a Birthday Bash, in recognition of their one year anniversary on Wednesday, Jan. 31, from noon to 8 p.m.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 12:30 p.m. with the Findlay Hancock County Chamber as part of the one year celebration.

Beyond MedSpa will offer retail specials and just for stopping by individuals will be entered to win a $100 gift certificate. By making a retail or service purchase, individuals will be entered into the drawing two additional times.

Bridge Bereavement Services to host Forever Memories for Families Group

Bridge Bereavement Services will be offering a Forever Memories for Families Group focused on loss, grief and healing through the creation of a memory frame. The group will be held on Thursday, February 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in The Hub at Birchaven Village, 15100 Birchaven Lane, Findlay.

4,500 surgical procedures performed in 2017 at Bluffton Hospital

Including an average of two plastic surgeries each week

Albert Loayza, RN, surgical first assistant at Bluffton Hospital, puts it this way: “Our hospital is small, but our care is big.”

Last year that “small” Bluffton Hospital surgical department handled 4,500 procedures, a number that may surprise most Icon viewers.

Bluffton’s surgical specialties include general, obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN), facial plastic, pediatric, urology, gastro-intestinal and ear, nose and throat surgery.

Beyond MedSpa offers two Valentine's Day packages

Blanchard Valley Health System offers two Valentine's Day packages available at its Beyond MedSpa locations at both Bluffton Hospital and Blanchard Valley Hospital.

• Package One - Includes Beyond facial, brow shaping or dermaplaning, 30-minute Swedish massage and complilmentary aromatherapy for $99.
• Package Two - Includes 60-minute hot chocolate stone massage, Beyond mini facial for $120.

Bridge Bereavement Services hosting “Understanding Depression in Grief”

January 15 in Findlay

Bridge Bereavement Services will offer a presentation that focuses on understanding depression in grief on Monday, Jan. 15, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Marathon Auditorium at Blanchard Valley Hospital, 1900 S. Main Street, Findlay.

Topics include: 

 Assisting the bereaved in identifying depression 

 Explaining the difference between feeling and being depressed 

 Coping mechanisms for healthy grief 

Jamie Wilkinson-Franks, MSW, LISW-S, of Stepping Stones Counseling will be presenting, with an opportunity for discussion to follow.
