League play for the 8th grade girls’’ league is on Wednesdays

Friday mornings for youth of all ages

A new addition to Bluffton Family Recreation’s class offerings to youth this spring is a home school recreation class, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director.

The class is open to youth of all ages and is held on Fridays from 10 to 11 a.m. in the BFR indoor soccer arena, 215 Snider Road, Bluffton.

Tinch said that the class offers lots of different physical education opportunities for homeschooled youth.

Workouts suing dumb bells, kettle bell weights, med balls, band and core work

Total Body Conditioning classes are offered weekday mornings at 7:30 a.m. at Bluffton Family Recreation, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director.

Benefits include improved mobility, cardiovascular health, improved strength, improved agility and some flexibility.

The class lasts approximately 45 minutes with about five minutes of warm ups and 15 minutes of cool downs.

This class is free for BFR members or $6 each visit for non-members. Anyone may join the class at anytime.

Bluffton Family Recreation offers adult swim classes at Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio Maple Crest pool on Augsburger Road, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director.

Here's the class schedule:
• Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays
  9:30-10:15 a.m. - Strength, range of motion and cardio

• Tuesdays and Thursdays
   8:30-9:15 a.m. - Higher level cardio

10 class times for Total-body Resistance Exercise

Spring BFR fitness classes are in place with several new offerings. One of the new classes covers Total-body Resistance Exercise (TRX).

TRX and is a suspension training system, using a mix of support and mobility training in strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, coordination, power and core all at once. It uses gravity and movement to generate the engagement of the entire body.

The final Bluffton Family Recreation indoor winter soccer league team registration deadline is Friday, March 30, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director.
