August is full of activies at the Bluffton Public Library. Here's the schedule:

Tutor Me Paperless returns in August. Every Wednesday of the month, a one-on-one tutor will meet with patrons with technology questions free of charge. Your topics may vary, so call in to specify that topic and to secure a reservation.

Storytime (Ages 3 to 5): Visit Storytime on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. or Tuesdays at 10 a.m.  Our theme for August –December is ‘Around the world in 142 days,’ looking at stories from around the world, immigration and languages.

"The Dark Crystal," a Jim Henson movie produced in the early 1980s, is the feature movie on today's "Monday Movie Madness" at the Bluffton Public Library.

The movie will be shown in the Richland Room at 1 p.m. today. It is free and popcorn is served. The movie is not recommended for youth younger than second grade.

Looking for something fun and free to do with the kids?

Visit the Bluffton Public Library and check out the I-Spy book display. It includes a game where each child who participates wins a prize. The display is located directly in front of the circulation desk, and library patrons can find all of the directions on the display shelf.

Feel free to ask staff members if you have any questions. Then, turn in your completed answer sheet for a fun, little prize.

The Blufton Public Library has a busy July schedule. Here's what's what happening:

The library will be closed for Independence Day on July 4th and 5th.  Due dates will be adjusted accordingly.

Tutor Me Paperless— basic, one-on-one Tech/Computer classes—will return for Wednesdays in August.  Register by phone or in person for this service and specify what mode or feature of technology that you would like to discuss.

Storytime (Ages 3 to 5): Visit Storytime on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. or Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. (Starting July 7th)

The Bluffton Public Library will host M.E. Reach, an author of young adult books, at 2 p.m., Friday, June 27. The program is in the Young Adult section of the library, according to Esther Birkey, Youth Services Coordinator.

Reach has worked with teens and adolescents for nearly 11 years in a variety of contexts, across five states and in two foreign countries. He and his wife, Cassi, and their children, have recently returned to the U.S. after serving in Bangladesh.

Tuesday, June 10, is the first of the Bluffton Library's "Summer Jams."

According to Charlie Saylor, "We'll begin at around 6 p.m., but as we are hoping to be outside on the lawn, we may have a later quitting time than in the past. If the weather looks like it will cooperate, bring a chair, stool, or whatever suits you for sitting and picking, or comfortable listening and relaxing outside."
