Jessica Hermiller always wanted to be librarian - ever since she was a page at Lima Public Library at age 14. The Lima native grew up and got her wish, first in Pennsylvania, and then on Jan. 2, she became director of the Bluffton Public Library at 145 S. Main.
She replaces Cindi Chasse who retired in December. Hermiller may be known best as the daughter of Mike and Tammy Bradshaw. Tammy works at The Food Store, also on Main Street, Bluffton.
Beginning Feb. 3, storytime for preschoolers ages 3 to 5 will be held at the Bluffton Public Library at 6:30 p.m. on Mondays and at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays. Sessions will continue until the end of April.
Themes this spring include the Olympics, numbers, monkeys, and more! Each storytime session is approximately 30 minutes long and includes stories, songs, and other related activities. Storytime is a free, fun way to help children develop early literacy skills and their imagination.
Three movies will be shown at the Bluffton Public Library during the month of January. The series will start on Monday, Jan. 6, and continue on Monday, Jan. 13 and Monday, Jan. 27. Movies will begin at 3:30 p.m. in the lower level and popcorn will be provided.
All movies are rated G or PG and there is no registration to attend. For more information call the library at 419-358-5016 or visit the circulation desk.
