Are you concerned about climate change?

Become a Climate Advocate by joining the Citizen’s Climate Lobby (CCL), a nationwide bipartisan group, dedicated to lobbying Congress for climate solutions.

Anyone interested should attend the Climate Advocate Training workshop on Saturday, Feb. 8 at the library (in the Monroe Room) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

Representatives from CCL will cover their mission and values, history and successes, the structure of local chapters, and relevant skills. This workshop is part of establishing a local CCL chapter.

On Thursday, February 13 at 6 p.m., the library will host a "Galentine's" Collage
Workshop with artist Amanda Brasfield of Spiritus Collage. Celebrate friendship with your gal pals or create a collage to gift! Registrants will design and create their own unique 5”x 7” collage with their choice of inspirational words/phrases.

There is a $4 cash only fee at the door that covers supplies used at this workshop.This program is open to ages 12 through adult.

Ohio Northern University students and licensed medical staff of ONU’s Healthwise Program will visit the library for another free Mobile Health Clinic on Fri., Jan. 31 from 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Receive free screenings for blood pressure, osteoporosis, blood sugar, and cholesterol (please fast for 12 hours to participate in cholesterol or blood sugar screening).

Bluffton Public Library's Winter Book Challenge returns, and there's still time to participate.

The library announced the Winter Reading Program for children, teens, and adults is now underway. It is one of many programs in January. 

Pick up a Winter Reading Bookmark at the library, or download and print it from the library's website. Then complete five or more challenges during the months of January through March to receive a prize. You may then also enter a drawing to win a larger prize.

Lima Literacy Council Director and GED/ASPIRE Coordinator with Lima City Schools will be at Bluffton Public Library tonight at 6 p.m.

Lima Literacy Council Director, Ken Blanchard and GED/ASPIRE Coordinator with Lima City Schools, Laura Ball will be at Bluffton Public Library tonight at 6 p.m. The library invites community members to join for a discussion about adult literacy in our community.

The two speakers will share their knowledge of the effects of different types of low literacy in individuals in our community, and our community as a whole, and will explain the services that the Lima Literacy Council offers in our area.

The Board of Trustees of Bluffton Public Library announced its meeting schedule for 2020.  Meetings will be held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the library's Board Room at 145 S. Main St., Bluffton.  No meetings will take place in July or December.

Board members are Elizabeth Hostetler, president; Bob Beer, vice president; Carrie Phillips, secretary; Amy Lehman Mikesell, Robert Scott, Emily VonStein and Nancy Yeager. 

 Board meetings are open to the public.
