Free health screenings Wednesday AM at public library

Ohio Northern University students and licensed medical staff of ONU’s Healthwise Program will visit the Bluffton Public Library for a free Mobile Health Clinic from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 23. from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.  

The clinic offers free screenings for:
• blood pressure
• blood sugar and
• cholesterol
   (please fast for 12 hours prior to your arrival to participate in the cholesterol or blood sugar screening).

Here's the 2019 public library board meeting schedule

The Board of Trustees of Bluffton Public Library has announced its meeting schedule for 2019. 

Meetings will be held the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. the library's Board Room at 145 S. Main St., Bluffton. 

No meetings will take place in July or December.

Board members are Elizabeth Hostetler, president; Bob Beer, vice president; Carrie Phillips, secretary; Amy Lehman Mikesell, Robert Scott, Emily VonStein, and Nancy Yeager. 

 Board meetings are open to the public.

 

Human trafficking awareness class

Friday afternoon at Bluffton Public Library

Bluffton Public Library will hold a human trafficking awareness class at 3 p.m., Friday, Jan. 11.

Registration is required for this free educational class featuring Brittany Reyes, LSW, RA, Human Trafficking Survivor Advocate from Crime Victim Services of Lima.

Persons attending will learn what human trafficking is, how it begins, signs to be aware of, and anonymous examples and stories of the survivors Crime Victim Services have helped in our community.

The class is for persons ages 18 and up.

Library board reorganizes on Jan. 8

The Board of Trustees of Bluffton Public Library will hold its annual organizational meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 6:30 p.m.  The purpose of the meeting is to elect officers, set the 2019 meeting schedule and approve temporary authorizations for 2019. 

Library Foundation Board meets Jan. 8

The Board of Trustees of Bluffton Richland Library Foundation will hold an annual organizational meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 7 p.m.  The purpose of the meeting is to elect officers and set the 2019 meeting schedule.

Winter Book Challenge: The library is happy to announce the Winter Reading Program for children, teens, and adults! Pick up a Winter Reading Bookmark at the library, or download and print it from our website. Then complete five or more challenges during the months of January through March to receive a prize. At this time, you may also enter a drawing to win a larger prize!
