Upcoming events at the library in April

The library is hosting a number of special events in April.

The Friends of the Library Spring Tea will be on Thursday, April 25 at 5:45 p.m., featuring Fred Steiner. Tickets are available at the library’s front desk, starting at the beginning of April, and the cost is $12 (cash or check). This afternoon tea will be held on the library's lower level and acts as an annual fundraiser, hosted by the Friends of the Library, for library programs and services.

THE MARCH CLUB NEWSLETTER IS ATTACHED AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS STORY -

The Gardeners of the Bluffton/Pandora Area (GBPA) invite the public to a lecture on seed starting basics, at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, in the lower level of the Bluffton Public Library, according to Victoria Zeits.

Marilyn Beltz, member and past president of the Hancock County Master Gardener Volunteers, is the speaker.

Plus arts, maple syrup, music and lots more at the library in March

Creativity is in the air at the Bluffton Public Library in March.

The library hosts a Student Art Showcase, displaying artwork by local students and homeschoolers.

The showcase will begin on Thursday, March 7, with a launch party with refreshments from 6 to 7 p.m.  The artwork will be on display at the library for the rest of the month.

March is National Craft Month, so the library will offer a craft project every Friday for anyone to come in or take home and create.

Public Library hosts Allen County Council on Aging program

Do you wonder what you need to know about Medicare before you sign up? 

Gerry Burton, Senior Services Resource Specialist, Allen County Council on Aging, will present "Medicare 101" on Tuesday, March 5, at 5:30 p.m. at Bluffton Public Library. 

There will be time for questions after the presentation, and participants can find out about other services the Allen County Council on Aging offers.

“The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows

Bluffton Public Library’s adult book discussion group’s focus in March is “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" by Mary Ann Shaffer & Annie Barrows.

The book discussion, open to the public, is at noon, Wednesday, March 6, in the library. The monthly discussion group is open to new members and registration is suggested. The group meets the first Wednesday of every month, and occasionally has the author visit via Skype.
