Free online educational enrichment for K-12 students

The Bluffton University education department will continue offering free online educational enrichment in response to K-12 school closures each Tuesday and Thursday through the month of May.

The popular service, primarily staffed by Bluffton University educator preparation majors and student teachers, began on March 8.

Study Buddies provide academic help and educational games/activities through the Zoom videoconferencing platform. Students needing academic help can log on any time between 9 a.m. and noon to be matched with a Study Buddy.

33 seniors were honored as distinguished scholars

Bluffton University is recognizing many of its top students for their academic achievements.

Thirty-three seniors were honored as distinguished scholars in their respective academic areas.

Five seniors were recognized for completion of the Honors Program. They are: Aubrey Bartel, of Newton, Kan.; Timothy Bender, of Wellman, Iowa; Alexis Cash, of Gaines, Mich.; Lydia Lugibihl, of Pandora, Ohio; and Michelle Swartley, of Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Pettisville High School senior Danielle King winner of full-tuition scholarship at Bluffton University

An incoming student at Bluffton University has been awarded the university’s full-tuition Presidential Scholarship, valued at more than $140,000 for four years.

Danielle King, of Wauseon, Ohio, is the February session scholarship recipient.

Programs include • Master of Business Administration (MBA) • Master of Arts in Organizational Management (MAOM) • Master of Arts in Education (MAEd)

In recognition of the significant contributions Bluffton alumni make to the institution and in their respective communities, Bluffton University is helping graduates continue their education through the Bluffton University Alumni Master’s Degree Grant. 

Now a "test flexible" university

Bluffton University is adopting a test-flexible policy for prospective students who are applying as first-year or transfer students in undergraduate degree programs.

Students who are consistently on their high school honor roll can be admitted solely based on GPA.  

“In a time when there are many complexities around access to standardized tests, Bluffton University is committed to better support students who want to be successful in college” said Robin Bowlus, vice president of enrollment management.
