It's the company's seventh location

Shirley’s Gourmet Popcorn Company will open a new franchise location in Goshen, Indiana, in the fall of 2017, co-founder and CEO Pete Suter announced.

The store, located on Main Street in the heart of historic downtown Goshen, will mark the company’s seventh overall location and first in Indiana. It will be locally owned and operated by Goshen native Kate Steury Leaman and husband Jon Leaman.

Ashley Klingler, Stacy Stumbaugh join the staff

Ashley Klingler and Stacy Stumbaugh grew up in the same neighborhood, are lifelong friends and attended school together from Kindergarten to graduation at Bluffton High in 2005. They even share a first cousin.

Now they’ve teamed up as part of the staff of The Centre, meeting and banquet facility, 601 N. Main St., Bluffton. They are assisting the new director, Wendy Gaines, who for the past 13 years served as assistant director.

Why group piano for children?

Group piano offers a fantastic opportunity to be involved in music-making that develops overall musicianship while learning basic piano skills, according to Vicki Mills of Miss Vicki's Music Studio, Ada.

She adds: "7 and 8 year olds love to sing, move, create, and play... all aspects of a group piano setting that capitalizes on the sense of joy experienced in a social situation while learning how to move those fingers on a piano in a meaningful way!"

Have lunch plans?

The Dough Hook, 117 N. Main St., launches its outdoor lunch grilling on Thursday, according to Marlena Ballinger.

This summer, grilling takes place in the village-owned alley between the Presbyterian Church and the Velasquez mural (across the street from The Dough Hook).

Grilling will take place each Thursday this summer from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

According to Ballinger, sandwiches off the grill include hamburgers, brats and oink burgers.

In addition, customers may purchase cookies, chips and deli salads.
