First National Bank, 112 Cherry St., Bluffton, invites Icon viewers to its Firecracker Friday Cookout. The cookout is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, July 12, at the Bluffton branch parking lot

FROM ADA ICON - The Patriotic Pops Concert, featuring the Lima Symphony Concert, at Ohio Northern University at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, will be moved indoors, to the ONU King-Horn Field House, due to the threat of thunderstorms.
The concert is free and open to the public.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive early and bring lawn chairs, blankets and favorite picnic foods. This fun-filled family event will feature patriotic music, selections from musicals and other stage and film productions, popular tunes and a tribute to our armed forces.
It’s coming to Bluffton on Tuesday, Aug. 6, says Lt. Matt Oglesbee, of the Bluffton police department.
Last year the event gobbled down 2,400 hotdogs, 1,200 bags of chips and 2,500 caps of pop and water.
“This year looks like a repeat of last year,” said Oglesbee, who oversees the sixth annual Bluffton National Night Out, which is a community-police awareness-raising event. Bluffton's event is sponsored by the Bluffton police and Pandora police departments.
Summer park play dates continue at the Jenera Park, State Route 698, south of Jenera.
The July dates are on Mondays, July 1 and July 15. Play begins at 9:30 a.m. each Monday, but people with children may come when you can and stay as long as you are able.
Kids of all ages are invited as well as their caregivers.
