Transition Bluffton and the Bluffton University Sustainability Club will present a showing of the movie “Anima Mundi,” a 2011 documentary that looks at peak oil, climate change, permaculture, and Gaia theory.  

Some of the individuals heard on the movie include David Holmgren, Stephan Harding, Vandana Shiva, Michael C. Ruppert, and Noam Chomsky. There will be a discussion period following the movie.

The movie is at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 19, in the Stutzman Lecture Hall in Centennial Hall, Bluffton University. It is open to the public at no charge. Popcorn will be provided.

Join Kaitlyn Murray from Wine Trends for a pre-Valentine's Day wine tasting tonight (Wednesday, Feb. 13) beginning at 7 p.m. at The Cask Room, 127 S. Main St., Ada.

The cost for tasting pours of each wine specially selected by Kaitlyn is $12. The price includes chocolates to enjoy with the wines.

Each wine is available by the bottle with half and full case discounts, according to Steven Bates of The Cask Room.

The Inn at ONU offers a "Be Mine, Chocolate & Wine (and live music too)," event on Thursday, Feb. 14. Here are the details:

• Five wine tastings and a selection of decadent chocolate desserts and savory chocolate appetizers. Wine commentary provided by wine industry expert, Diana Kerr Brown. Wine is available to purchase for special gifts and occasions.

The Centre at Bluffton, 601 N. Main St., Bluffton, holds its first-ever wedding spotlight from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 10.

"This is an open-house style event featuring local wedding vendors. It will showcase upcoming wedding trends and styles," said Ashley Klingler, director of operations.

Admission is $3 per person and 2019 brides will be admitted free of charge.

Deb Stockford demonstrates making a cupcake snowman on Thursday

The next Our Version of Adult Learning (OVAL) is Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 10 a.m. at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center.

Jonah Agner, The Food Store, presents “Healthy Comfort Food.” Participants will get to eat whatever he makes. Cost is $3 for members, $4 for non-members.

And, on Thursday, Jan. 24, also at 10 a.m. Deb Stockford, The Frosting Studio, presents “Frosting a Snowman.” She will demonstrate her technique for decorating a snowman cake and participants get a taste. Cost is $2 for members, $3 for non-members.
