Battle of Badges moved to Sommer Center April 12

It’s the third annual “Battle of the Badges” basketball game: Bluffton fire department vs. Bluffton police department.

The contest is at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 12, at Bluffton University’s Sommer Center. Admission is free. Donations are accepted at the door for the Bluffton Community Assistance Program.

(Note: The game was moved from Bluffton High School to the Sommer Center.)

There will be door prizes, a 50/50 drawing and a three-point challenge.

Art students of Krysti's Music Studio have art show April 11

The art students of Krysti’s Music Studio will present an art show from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 11 on the third floor of the Bluffton town hall. Students whose work will be represented include Brice Hogan, Kaelynn Holland, and Danielle Novak. Teachers are Vickie Garmon and Abby Graber. The event is free and open to the public. Students are to answer questions about their pieces. Light refreshments will be served.

Organizational meeting for Arlington farmers' market April 14

The spring organizational meeting for an Arlington community farmers' market will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 14 at Good Hope Lutheran Church. Interested vendors are encouraged to attend. For more information, call 419.358.5582.

Arts and crafts show six weeks away - already over 30 vendors are registered

Six weeks and counting.

The 44th annual Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce arts and crafts show is Saturday, May 16, in downtown Bluffton. And, yes, that's six weeks from now. This year's show is one week later than recent years.

Identify theft program at Senior Center April 23

Bluffton Senior Citizens Center will hold an identity theft meeting for its members this month.

The meeting is at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 23, at the Center, 132 N. Main St., Bluffton.Two persons will make presentations:
• Elysia Bush, Elder Victim Ministry Advocate, Crime Victim Services
• Eric Brough, AVP Operations Manager, Citizens National Bank

"The purpose of the meeting is to provide stories and resources to help elders prevent, identify and respond to financial abuse," said Tonya Meyers, director. Persons with questions may contact the Center.

Get 'em while they're hot! Pancakes at the Senior Center

The Bluffton Senior Center and the Bluffton Lions Club team up with its 33rd annual pancake and sausage benefit Saturday, March 28.

Serving is from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Bluffton Senior Center, 132 N. Main St.

The moneys raised benefit both organizations. The cost of the meal is $6 per person pre-sale tickets, $7 per person at the door, children 5 and under eat free with an adult.
