Bowl for Hope event April 4 at Southgate Lanes

Bluffton For Hope - formerly known as Bluffton Relay for Life, will hold a "bowl for hope" event at Southgate Lanes, Bluffton, on Saturday, April 4, according to Lynda Best.

The first shift bowls at 1 p.m. and the second at 6 p.m. The first 50 paid entries for each shift may participate. A $20 registration per bowler is required and checks are made to: Southgate Lanes.

There's trouble in River City when a fast-talking salesman gets his heart stolen by the town librarian. Can you identify the musical with this story line?

Bluffton High School presents "The Music Man," by Meredith Willson Friday through Sunday, April 10-12 on the middle school stage. Kara Zink is the director.

All the music you can eat - tonight at Bluffton Music Boosters chicken barbecue

The Bluffton Music Boosters present its annual chicken and shrimp barbecue – with all the music you can eat Friday, March 20, in the Bluffton middle school.

Tickets are $7.50 for your choice, a one-half chicken or seven pieces of shrimp with sides. Persons may eat in or carry out. Desserts are available separately. Checks may be made to: Bluffton Music Boosters.

A silent auction organized the Bluffton High School OWE program takes place during the evening. The auction includes over 70 donated items benefiting the Ronald McDonald’ House and the OWE program.

Gaze into the ONU telescope on Friday night

What a way to celebrate the arrival of spring.

The ONU Observatory will be open to the public from 9 - 11 p.m. on Friday, March 20, to celebrate the Spring Equinox and a new moon, according to Dr. Jason Pinkney, manger of the observatory.

"The spring, or vernal equinox is the start of spring and it is marked by the northward passage of the Sun across the celestial equator," said Pinkney. "There also happens to be a total solar eclipse on this day, but it will not be visible from the United States."

Columbus Grove presents "Beauty and the Beast"

The Columbus Grove choral department will hold its 48th annual high school musical Friday, March 20 and Saturday, March 21. Performances will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Columbus Grove auditorium.

This year’s production is Disney’s "Beauty and the Beast." The cast will
feature high school students Alyssa Langhals, Marcus Delarosa, Kasey Kruse,
Grant Anderson, Austin Spangler, Amanda Shafer, Krista Welty, Christine
Ricker, Eli Wisswasser, Kyle Shafer, and Rayne Sharrits, as well as a
cast and crew of 38 additional high school students.

Lima author has March 28 book signing at Book Reviews

A first-time author will have a book signing from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, March 28, at Book ReViews, 123 S. Main St., accoding to Dr. Christina Walton, store manager.

Mary Suzanne Hofmann of Lima will sign copies of her book "From Diapers to Diapers: A Journey through Life."

Walton said, "Everyone has a story to tell about their journey through life. Mary Suzanne Hofmann started writing down stories for her grandchildren, as seen in early chapters, “There has to be a beginning… and this is it” and ends with, “Takin’ the train to heaven.”
