Red Cross blood drive Aug. 22 in Mt. Cory

An American Red Cross blood drive will take place Wednesday, Aug. 22, in Mt. Cory.
The drive is from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. and will be held in the Mt. Cory Masonic Temple, 16000 State Route 235.

Sept. 6 next Bluffton American Red Cross blood drive

Bluffton's next American Red Cross Blood Drive is Thursday, Sept. 6, from 11:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Bluffton University in Burcky Gymnasium.
Come to donate and be entered into a drawing for a $25 shopping spree. Please email [email protected] to schedule your blood donation appointment.

Richland Manor holds community movie night Aug. 16

Richland Manor, Swaney Road, will have a community movie night along with family night Thursday, Aug. 16, according to Barry Schneck.
Schneck said, "The plan is to show "We Bought A Zoo" outside so people can bring lawn chairs or we will provide chairs. It is to start at 8 p.m. Also we will have snacks and drinks to go along with the movie and its free and open to the public."

"The Amazing Spiderman" and "The Watch" shown at Shannon August 17-23

Peter Suter of Shannon Theatre announced that "The Amazing Spiderman" (PG-13) and "The Watch" (R) will be shown at the theatre from August 17-23.
Show times follow:
The Amazing Spiderman (PG-13) Each evening at 7 with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 1:30 and 4 PM.
The Watch (R) Each evening at 9:30 PM only.

This weekend marks the 99th annual Farmers and Merchants Picnic in Ada. The Ada Farmers and Merchants Picnic Association sponsor the Friday and Saturday, Aug. 10-11 event.

Lots of prizes, food and fun at Beaverdam Summerfest Aug. 11

The annual Beaverdam-Richland Fire Department's Summerfest is Saturday, Aug. 11, in downtown Beaverdam.
The event starts at 4 p.m. There will be lots of homemade food, door prizes, live musical entertainment and inflatable rides for kids.
At 9:30 p.m. the grand prizes will be drawn. This year's prizes include:
o One-quarter beef
o Patio furniture
o Kalahari Weekend Getaway
o Swimming pool
o Keurig coffee maker
