Dear Santa...The Bluffton Icon again has the inside track to your Christmas wishes. A special mailbox at the Bluffton Post Office accepts letters to Santa. The Icon will print all letters that are legible.

And, thanks to the digital age, The Icon will also accept e-mailed letters to Santa. Send them to [email protected]

Here's the first letter:

The Ohio Northern University Astronomy Club will host a star party at the ONU Observatory on Friday, Dec. 2, from 8:30-10:30 p.m.

At the star party, attendees will look for the moon, Jupiter, the Pleiades star cluster and the Andromeda Galaxy.

This event is free and open to the public.

In the event of cloudy or unfavorable atmospheric conditions, the event will be canceled. Please consult the observatory website for news on future viewing dates and possible cancellations and to view maps of the observatory.

Peter Suter of Shannon Theatre announced that "The Muppets" (PG) is showing at the theatre from December 2 - 8.

Show times follow:

Each evening at 7 and 9:30 PM with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 1:30 and 4 PM.

Three area dulcimer players and groups will take the stage at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, in the third floor of the Blufftyon town hall for concert of Christmas music.

Appalachian Mountain dulcimers will celebrate Christmas, not only as they've been played in the past, but as they are interpreted and dynamically re-created today.

The American Red Cross of Hancock and Wyandot counties will hold a private party at Coffee Amici in downtown Findlay for teens interested in joining the new Red Cross Youth Council.

The recruitment party will be on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 6-7:30pm. Students will receive a free beverage and be treated to a performance by Chimera, a local rock band comprised of Findlay High School students.

Little Pirates (boys in grades 3-6) will begin Saturday, Dec. 3, from 9-10 a.m. in the Bluffton High School gym.

This is a time for skills and drills to be taught and fun competition for any boy basketball player. High school coaches and players will lead Little Pirates. This weekly activity will take place every Saturday morning through the basketball season.
