History comes  alive! when Captain Riley shows up

Sea captain, surveyor and Ohio's last frontiersman James Riley will be travelling throught he Time Machine to visit the Bluffton Senior Center on Friday, April 21.  Captain Riley will arrive at 1:00 p.m. and begin his presentation at 1:30. He needs to be back in  The Time  Machine by 4:00 p.m. or he will morph to become Darrell Groman.

As a surprise to all, Captain Riley will be accompanied by another Time Machine traveler, Henry Wing. Mr. Wing is a resident of rural Putnam County and is a member of Riley's surveying company. Mr. Wing will show and discuss his  extensive collection of surveying  instruments to those who are interested, before he morphs to become Keith Sommer.

May 6 Cooking with Rhubarb program at Litzenberg Woods

FINDLAY--Sarah Fishel will be sharing recipes and demonstrating how the pioneers would have used the rhubarb that is growing in the McKinnis garden. The guests will get to enjoy tea and rhubarb cake that was baked in the 1847 wood stove after the demonstration. Perhaps you can share your favorite recipe as well while enjoying the cozy fire. Each guest will receive a rhubarb recipe booklet to take with them.

GROB invites families and community to May open house

GROB Systems, Inc. has announced a public Open House from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 13 at their at 1070 Navajo Drive, Bluffton facilities. The public is invited to visit the facility and tour the state-of-the-art complex. Visitors will have an opportunity to see products in operation, learn about GROB's state-registered apprenticeship program and view other office buildings.

LWV holds information session on mental health services for children

The League of Women Voters of the Lima Area will hold an informational meeting on mental health services for children at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17 at the Mental Health & Recovery Services Board of Allen, Auglaize, and Hardin County, 529 S Elizabeth St Ste 200, Lima.  The guest speaker will be Tammy Colone, Director of the Mental Health & Recovery Services for Children. This meeting is open to the public.

Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities topic of April 14 Chamber program

The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce will host its monthly breakfast meeting on Friday, April 14.

Finding reliable employees has become increasingly difficult. Employers need to explore all options to fill open positions. Michelle Steinke, Vocational Rehabilitation Supervisor with Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) will be the guest speaker and will talk about alternative workforce opportunities and the work of OOD.

Public Hearing for alley vacation off Cherry St near Vance

The Village of Bluffton has issued the notice for a public hearing for an alley vacation at 5:30 p.m. on May 10, 2023 at 5:30 pm in the Community Room on the 3rd floor of Town Hall, 156 N. Main St.

The Village of Bluffton has received a petition from Matthew and Hannah Alspach, property owners at 150 Cherry St., to vacate a public alley that borders their property.

A public hearing will be held before the Streets, Alleys, Lights & Sidewalks Committee of Village Council on the date listed above.
