Entries are still being accepted to the 3rd annual George H. Frazee III Golf Outing. The 18-hole, 4-person scramble is Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Bluffton Golf Club.

The scramble has an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. The purpose of the scramble is to continue support of the George H. Frazee III Bluffton University Scholarship Fund.

Entry is $60 per person and $240 per team. Persons wanting more information may contact the Bluffton Golf Club, 8575 N. Dixie Highway, Bluffton.

Bob Painter will share photographs of the Bluffton Senior Citizens trip to Charleston and Savannah during the August Senior Citizens dinner meeting.

The meeting is at 6 p.m., Monday, Aug. 9, at the center. Tickets are $7 and must be purchased by Wednesday, Aug. 4.

The meal is catered by Ted's Market of Pandora. The menu includes pulled pork, potato salad, mixed vegetables, applesauce, roll and cheese cake.

Philip Meeks, 90, will be awarded a life time membership at the meeting.

Several other events take place in August at the Center.

Bluffton Public Library will host a discussion of Beppe Severgnini's book "Ciao America" at Common Grounds Coffeehouse & Caf'e at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25.

Severgnini is an Italian journalist who has written a story about moving from Italy to live in the United States for one year. "Ciao America" is his humorous take on the American lifestyle.

On Saturday, Aug. 7, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Christie's on the Square, 101 S. High Street, Columbus Grove, and the Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter will raise funds for local community individuals, families and friends suffering from Alzheimer's disease or another related memory loss disorder.

More than 20 families are opening their garages and offering items for sale during the second Bluffton community garage sale on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Aug. 5, 6 and 7. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Bluffton Public Library.

Sale hours are Thursday and Friday, Aug. 5 and 6 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 7 from 8 a.m. until the seller wishes to close. Shoppers will be able to identify participants by the blue and white sign in the yard.

Berne, Ind., Swiss Days are planned for Thursday through Sunday, July 29 to Aug. 1. The Berne and Bluffton communities have several things in common including personal relationships among several families and many common ancestors in Switzerland.
