Bluffton’s bike rodeo is back with Officer Hope Hannah and Bike Crazy LLC providing the expertise necessary to teach riders in grades K-5 bicycling rules of the road and skills, and to check participants’ bikes for the “ABCs” of safety: Air, Brakes and Chains.

Fred Steiner will present a time machine tour of Bluffton going back over 140 years in a Bluffton Public Library summer reading program at 6 p.m., Tuesday, July 19, in the lower level of the library.

In a Power Point presentation, the program features dozens of photos taken by Bluffton pioneer photographer Will Triplett from the 1890s to 1920s-era. 

The Gardeners of the Bluffton/Pandora Area (GBPA) are inviting the public to a lecture given by Dave McPheron of Star Farms-Native Plants.

The club meets in Bluffton the first Tuesday of the month from March through December to discuss and hold outings related to gardening.

Appointments are needed for the July 6 Red Cross Blood drive at First United Methodist Church, 116 Church Street.

The Bluffton Cattle 4-H Club will host their annual chicken BBQ fundraiser from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the Bluffton Sportsmen’s Club, 405 N. Spring St.

The money raised benefits the Bluffton-Pandora-Beaverdam buyers group, who support the Bluffton area livestock exhibitors at the Allen County Fair.  

Tickets are $10.00 each, which includes a 1/2 chicken, mac and cheese, and green beans catered by Bubba C’s.

There will also be a bake sale by donation. Pre-sale tickets are available from any Bluffton Cattle Club member.

This week the weather is cooperating with plans for The Usual Suspects to play from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the alley next to Roots By Strattons, 111 S. Main St.

Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the live music in a downtown "pocket-park."

The Usual Suspects--Bob Beer, Charlie Saylor, and Eric Shellenbarger--are also regulars at the Bluffton Senior Citizen Center, Bluffton Farmers Market and Bluffton Public Library jam sessions.
