Bluffton High School celebrates its 66th annual homecoming this weekend. The king and queen will be announced on the football field in a pre-game ceremony.

If home is where the hearth is, Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) warmed the hearth on Oct. 14. MHCO dedicated its Green House Homes located at Willow Ridge, directly across the road from Maple Crest Senior Living Communities.
The day-long celebration includes a visit from Dr. Bill Thomas of Ithaca, New York, founder of the Green House Project. Willow Ridge is the first Green House Homes in Ohio.

Richard Boehr, lifelong Bluffton businessman and community supporter, is recipient of the first-ever Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce Life Membership Award, according to Fred Steiner, Chamber CEO. The presentation was made during the Oct. 12 chamber breakfast, which was attended by approximately 70 persons.
This summer the chamber board agreed to create the Life Member designation to be presented to persons who have a long tradition of support to the chamber and the community. One additional Life Membership will be presented later this year.
Bluffton University will honor three alumni and a former faculty and staff member at its annual alumni awards banquet on Homecoming weekend. The Commons, in Marbeck Center, will be the site at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12.
The late Jean (Hoover ’47) Triplett is this year’s recipient of the Lifetime Service Award, presented to alumni who have dedicated their lives to heartfelt service to people, community or church.
Dr. Bill Thomas, founder of The Green House Project, will present a folk concert, story-telling and book-signing program at Maple Crest Senior Living Village, 700 Maple Crest Court, Bluffton, at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 14.
The program is part of the Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) daylong dedication of its Willow Ridge campus, the first two Green House homes in Ohio. The Willow Ridge dedication is at 1 p.m.
