Dr. Allison Westcott joins BVH Women and Children's Center

Dr. Allison Westcott

Dr. Allison Westcott has joined the Blanchard Valley Hospital Women and Children's Center. Dr. Westcott provides obstetrics and gynecology care and is accepting new patients.
Dr. Westcott received her medical degree from The University of Toledo and completed an OB/GYN residency at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia, South Carolina. She joins Dr. Miguel Jordan, Dr. George Abate and Certified Nurse Practitioner Teresa Jones in the practice.

Four Bluffton High School students who have been active in several aspects of the Allen County Junior Fair during their time in school are candidates for this year's Junior Fair royalty.
Julie Althaus, Sierra Amstutz and Pam Fischbach are Bluffton High School candidates for 2012 Allen County Junior Fair queen; Tyler Begg of BHS is a candidate for fair king.
The students are among 28 students vying for king and queen titles. This year's Allen County Fair takes place Aug. 17 to 25. Candidate interviews have already taken place.

Bluffton High School band camp starts Monday

Bluffton High School band members launch the 2012 marching band season on Monday as band camp begins.
The schedules follows:
Monday through Friday, Aug. 6-10
Pre-camp rehearsal 9 a.m.
Monday through Wednesday, Aug. 6-8
Freshman marching, 1 p.m.
Monday through Friday, Aug. 13-17
Band camp for all members, 7 a.m.
On Friday, Aug. 17, the band will perform for the public at 6 p.m. Following the performance the band will travel to the Allen County Fair for the county band show at 7 p.m.

Judy Clemens ready to release another Grim Reaper mystery

Pandora resident Judy Clemens is at it again with a release of another one of her mystery books title "Dying Echo." "Dying Echo," a Grim Reaper mystery, is the fourth series following her previous work, "Embrace the Grim Reaper, The Grim Reaper's Dance and Flowers for Her Grave."

There's a Bluffton connection in the Sunday comics.
Check out the newspaper comic strip "Pluggers," in today's Lima News. The message reads: "A plugger's field trip usually involves an actual field."
