Bluffton freelance graphic artist creates it all from her front room

Little-known fact: Most of the marketing efforts of the Freed Center for the Performing Arts at Ohio Northern University take place in Bluffton.

That's because, Anita Cook, independent contractor and marketing manager of the Center, lives in Bluffton. She creates most of her work from the office in her home on North Main Street, located just north of Groves Quality Collectibles.

Owner of Maestro Graphics, Cook is a freelance graphic artist, and her work with The Freed Center is one of the many multi-tasking positions she balances quite well.

Andy Althaus named senior vice president/accounting manager at Citizens National Bank

Andy Althaus

Andy Althaus of Bluffton this week was named as senior vice president/accounting manager at Citizens National Bank. In this position, Althaus will supervise the bank's accounting department, providing risk management, performance measurement and financial reporting for the institution.

Althaus is a graduate of Bluffton College, where he received a B.A. in accounting and economics. He began working at Citizens National Bank in 1989 and transitioned into the accounting department in 1991.

Note: Neal and Janie Blough are Bluffton University alumni. Neal's mother, Celia Blough, lives in Bluffton.

At the beginning of the 20th century, there were almost no Mennonites left in France. Between the annexation of Alsace-Lorraine (historically home to many Mennonites) into Germany, and immigration to North America, the population had dwindled significantly.

Neff recognized by chamber board

Sally Siferd presents plaque to Robert Neff

Robert Neff of R.D. Neff and Associates, was honored by the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce for his five years of service on the chamber board. Sally Siferd, chamber president, presented Neff with a plaque for his years of service.

The recognition took place at the March 9 chamber breakfast in the town hall. Neff has served on the chamber board since 2007.
