A Saturday garage sale for a good cause

A garage sale for a good cause is planned for Saturday, May 15, at 9380 N. Dixie Highway, Bluffton.

Proceeds for the garage sale will go to the annual Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance walk, held May 22 in Centerville. The May 15 garage sale was created on behalf of Kevin Sehlhorst. He is the 21-month-old son of Ben and Beth (Wasserman) Sehlhorst. Ben is a 1999 graduate of Bluffton High School. Beth is a 2003 graduate of Bluffton University.

David Voth receives Congressional Award for Outstanding Victim Advocacy

The 61-member Congressional Victim Rights Caucus awarded David Voth of Bluffton, the 2010 Ed Stout Memorial Award for Outstanding Victim Advocacy. He received the honor at the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C.

Awards are selected from across the nation, and honorees must be nominated by their Congressional representative. A summary of the nomination presented by Congressman Jim Jordan, Ohio 4th District, reads:

Jerry Lewis receives Golden Arches award

Jerry Lewis, local McDonald's Restaurant owner, was recently honored by McDonald's Corp. with the Golden Arch Award at the 2010 McDonald's Worldwide Convention in Orlando, Florida.

The McDonald's Golden Arch Award is the most prestigious award given to McDonald's owners and honors the "best of the best" in the McDonald's owner/operator community.

Gregg Luginbuhl's ceramic works receives Ohio award

Ceramics artist and Bluffton University professor of art Gregg Luginbuhl has received the Friends of Phyllis Clark Award for Excellence in Functional Ceramics for his work, "Rustic Decanter XVIII," in the "Best of 2010" juried members' exhibition at the Ohio Craft Museum in Columbus.

He was 15 artists honored with awards for excellence in Ohio Designer Craftsmen's 27th annual juried members' competition, "Best of 2010."
