15 minutes with Teri Sato

Where were you born? Is that where you grew up? What did your parents do in the way of work? Do you have siblings?

I was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1942. Father graduated from Texas A&M and had done work related to cotton business and import/export of agriculture between the U.S. and Japan. For a short time, Mother was a physical therapist having studied at Japan campus of the Bouv'e-Boston School of Physical Education, but she married young and stayed at home thereafter as most of the women of her era did. I have a brother and a sister in Japan.

6th grade:
Cole Harlow is the son of Craig and Misti Harlow, Bluffton. Cole participates on a soccer and a basketball team. He is a Maple Crest volunteer. In his spare time he likes to play soccer or his guitar.

Several Bluffton dancers among winners at Van Wert event

Rhythm in Motion Dance Centre competed in the No Limit Dance Competition in Van Wert on April 10. The Ada studio, one of at least 10 studios from Ohio and Indiana to compete, received nine trophies and awards, and two special award ribbons from the judges.

Lamplight Bed and Breakfast closes at end of May

Note: Joan Bauman owner of Lamplight Bed and Breakfast, 321 S. Main St., has announced her retirement from her business as of May 31. The following story was written in September for the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce weekly newsletter about the B&B. Its author is Angela Green, BGSU journalism intern for the chamber last fall.

April 1-15 police report

April 1
-Police responded to a Grove-Bluffton Rd. residence in regards to a civil complaint and a child custody dispute.
April 2
-Police stopped a truck in the Village Park for being in the park after dark and discovered Nancy Pontious, 43, Celina, operating the truck. Ms. Pontious was subsequently arrested for OVI and the case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
