Richland Manor will sponsor a meal and informational meeting at the Bluffton Senior Center at noon, Tuesday, March 22, according to Tonya Meyer, Center director.
The meeting is to give updated information on Medicaid Benefits and Veteran's services. The meal and meeting are free and open to the public, but reservations are requested. Make your reservations by call the Bluffton Senior Center at 419-358-8971 or stopping by the Senior Center.
Construction continues to progress at Bluffton Hospital. Last week the construction contractors placed some metal roofing caps, excavate the waterline along Harmon Street and tie in waterlines just outside the boiler room.
They also placed most of the steel posts that protect traffic from backing into the generator area.
Windows were placed along the west side of the new building. The canopy metal framework continues. The metal screen wall on the roof was completed.
Preliminary 2010 census figures released last week show Bluffton's population at 4,125. Of that number 3,952 live in Allen County and 173 live in Hancock County.
The report reveals that of municipalities in Allen County only Bluffton, Beaverdam and Cairo grew from the 2000 census.

Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce members voted to change the chamber's bylaws on March 11 to better reflect the chamber's continuing focus on a local emphasis.
Those changes better reflect the emphasis of the chamber, according to Fred Steiner, chamber CEO.
The changes came as a result of a chamber brainstorming session in April of 2010. Several suggestions came from that session and several ideas have already been implemented including the recent bylaw changes.
