Dash for Cache - second coordinate now available

Care to go geocaching? Here's the second (and the first) coordinates in The Icon Dash for Cache contest. Prizes are in each cache. There are six in all. Click here for more background on this contest. In the meantime, here are the first two cache coordinates.

Bluffton Writers' Group meets Sept. 13 at Maple Crest

The Bluffton Writers' Group will hold its first meeting of 2010-11, according to Ruth Naylor of the Group. The meeting is at 2 p.m., Monday, Sept. 13, at Maple Crest, Augsburger Road. Members will continue to meet from September through May 2011 on the second Monday of each month at 2 p.m. at Maple Crest. Persons wanting more information may contact Naylor. Watch The Icon for continued information on The Bluffton Writers' Group.

We thought Ohio had exclusive rights to the cardinal as the state bird. Indiana must have the same idea. The Icon spotted this bird in a university parking lot.

Ready for a Labor Day weekend hunt?

The Bluffton Icon unveils the first cache coordinates for The Icon's Dash for Cache contest. Click here to review the contest.

There are six caches in all. Each has a prize awaiting the first person to find each cache. Three of the prizes are $10 gift certificates from Shirley's Gourmet Popcorn. Three of the prizes are $10 gift certificates from Common Grounds.

A grand old state

Ohio is a grand state, but Arizona is the Grand Canyon State. Or, so says the Arizona license plate. The Icon spotted this western in the Bren-Dell parking lot at Bluffton University.
