Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter,
offers support group help for caregivers
The Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter, invites anyone who has a family member or friend with memory loss to attend a caregiver group meeting.
Meetings are held in Bluffton on the third Monday of each month at 3 p.m., at the Mennonite Memorial Home, 410 W. Elm St. Tricia Hermann and Emily Koogler lead the meetings. For more information call the Home at 419-358-1015.
A Bluffton Family Recreation (BFR) membership will serve as the grand prize for Bluffton Public Library's "Make a Splash" summer fundraiser. The fundraiser will coincide with the 2010 summer reading program and conclude with the library's 75th anniversary celebration in September.
Beginning June 7, adult cardholders may "adopt" (check-out) a coin can and save spare change as a family this summer. An additional can may be adopted when a full can is returned, while supplies last.
Riley Creek Singers, a community theatre group based in Pandora, will stage a production of "The Wizard of Oz" on Aug. 13-15. Open auditions for interested area actors and actresses will be held at the Pandora-Gilboa High School Auditeria on Sunday, June 6, from 4-8 p.m. and Monday, June 7, from 6:30- p.m.
All auditionees will be asked to complete an information sheet and read lines. Only those interested in lead parts will be asked to sing.
Stage director for "The Wizard of Oz" will be Kevin Augsburger. Vocal and orchestra director is Craig Van Renterghem.
The Bluffton school board named Ken Lugibihl to replace Dan Rumer on the board during a special meeting held May 25.
Rumer resigned earlier this month for health reasons. Lugibihl will fill Rumer's seat for the next year and a half. If he chooses to seek election he will be running on the November 2011 general election ballot.
Lugibihl is owner of Lugibihl Auto and Truck Sales, State Route 103. He has served as president of the Bluffton Child Development Center board of directors. He also served on the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce board.
