It's official: The Bluffton Hospital multi-million dollar ER/OR renovation and expansion is underway.
With a ceremonial tossing of dirt by Isabelle, James S. and John West, on April 8, the project began. Following the West family, Ropp Triplett tossed a shovel of dirt at Bill Watkins, Bluffton Hospital chief administrative officer. Ropp and Mary Emma Triplett served as campaign co-chairs.
The project will create new, much needed space for Bluffton Hospital's emergency and surgery departments, as well as add professional/medical office space.
Mary Marshall Barnett of Bluffton will celebrate 90 years on April 16 with a family dinner. Mary is a graduate of Bluffton High School and Bowling Green State University. She is married to Robert Barnett and has two sons, David (Marilyn) of Albany, N.Y., and Jim (Nancy) of Syracuse, N.Y. Her daughter Jayne (Richard) McGarrity lives in Bluffton. She has 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
This is one of the most unusual plates we've ever spotted. It is a State of Virginia plate with a strong Ohio flavor. Study it a moment; you'll see what we mean. And, in a stretch, it almost spells "Ohio."
This one is pretty unusual. It's a State of Virginia license plate, but look at all the Ohio references. "Ohio State" on the bottom; the OSU logo on the left; and in a stretch, the plate almost spells "Ohio." Study it a little and it will jump out at you.
Suddenly it's spring. Temperatures in the past five days proved that March went out like a lamb. Here are the high and low temperatures readings recorded by Guy Verhoff, Pandora weather observer for the first days of April.
The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce will host a "brainstorming" breakfast at 7:30 a.m., Friday, April 9, in the third floor of the town hall. The free breakfast, sponsored by Greg's Pharmacy, will allow chamber members to offer their views on what they believe the chamber should focus on during the next few years.
Persons interested in attending should RSVP to [email protected] by Wednesday noon.
