Bluffton youth soccer registration deadline: July 14

Registration closes July 14 for the fall youth soccer season with the Bluffton Soccer Club.

Bowlus breaks meet record; 22 team records set

WAPAKONETA, Ohio – On July 8-9, 2022, the Bluffton Sardines were repeat performers bringing home the WOAL trophy for the second year in a row. Both the boys and the girls teams placed first out of eight teams in the 40th annual Elks Invitational Swim Meet Western Ohio Aquatics League Championship at the Wapakoneta Community Pool.

Bluffton leads WOAL swim meet after Day 1 in Wapak

The Bluffton Sardines summer swim team is in first place out of eight teams after the first day of the 40th annual Western Ohio Aquatic League championship meet at the Wapakoneta Community Pool on Friday, July 8.

Bluffton leads the overall combined team standings, followed by meet host Wapak. 

Over 500 swimmers on eight teams are competing in the two-day event.

Swimming resumes Saturday morning at Wapakoneta with the second and final day of competition.

Results are attached with Bluffton relay teams and individuals highlighted in green.

Gulick named new coach at Bluffton University

Bluffton University has named Connor Gulick as head cross country coach and assistant track and field coach. Gulick returns to Bluffton following two years of collegiate coaching experience at Heidelberg University. He also previously served as a volunteer assistant coach at Utica High School in summer 2019.

Traveling fastpitch softball tryouts

The NWO Lady Buckeyes fastpitch softball teams are holding tryouts for the 2022-2023 season at the Elida Varsity & JV Softball fields, 4500 Sunnydale St. The teams are a nonprofit traveling program.

40th Annual Elks Invitational Swim Meet-WOAL League Champs

WAPAKONETA, Ohio⎯More than 500 swimmers and their families will descend on Wapakoneta on July 8-9, 2022 for the 40th annual Elks Invitational Swim Meet and Western Ohio Aquatics League (WOAL) League Championship.  League swimmers are ages 4-18 who are members of one of the league’s teams.

The Wapakoneta Community Swimming Pool is the host site for the 2022 Swim Champs. The facility will host eight teams: Ada, Bluffton, Findlay, Kenton, Shawnee Country Club, Wapakoneta, Westside and Van Wert. Teams will compete for the 2022 league title.
