The all-senior Bluffton High School golf team finished 11th in the 14-team Div. II northwest sectional at Moose Landing Golf Club Thursday, September 29, to conclude their season.

Napoleon won the sectional championship over Van Buren (338 strokes each with tiebreaker), followed by Liberty-Benton in third (348).

Bluffton shot 397 to finish ahead of Spencerville, Paulding and Kenton in the tightly-bunched field.

Carson Foltz of VB shot an 18-hole score of 35-37=72 to win the individual crown.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Bluffton University men's soccer team opened Heartland Conference play with a 2-0 loss at Transylvania on Wednesday, Sept. 28, in the Heartland Conference opener for both squads. The Beavers fell to 2-4-3 overall (0-1 HCAC), while the Pioneers improved to 4-2-3 (1-0 HCAC).

It was a quiet first half for both teams as the match went into the break scoreless. Transy found the back of the net in minute 55 to take a 1-0 lead and they hit paydirt again in minute 79 to secure the 2-0 shutout.

GRANVILLE, Ohio - The Bluffton University volleyball team wrapped up non-conference play on Wednesday, Sept. 28, with a 3-0 loss to Denison. The Beavers slipped to 12-5 while the Big Red improved to 6-8.

Kaylie Campbell (Camden/Preble Shawnee) led the Bluffton offense with five winners. Julianne Kincaid (Galion/Northmor), Chloei Barnett (Wapakoneta) and Jenna Woods (DeGraff/Riverside) all added four putaways in the Wednesday setback.

The Bluffton High School varsity volleyball team was swept by visiting league foe 
Leipsic in a Northwest Conference match Tuesday evening, September 27.

The 25-8, 25-20, 25-22 loss dropped the Bluffton record to 10-6 overall and 2-2 in the NWC this season. The 15th-ranked Vikings improved to 12-3 overall and 5-1 in NWC action with the win.

Bluffton was led in kills by Ayla Grandey with nine. Kendall Stackhouse contributed seven kills.

On September 24, the Bluffton University volleyball team secured two victories on day two of the Beaver Fall Classic against Capital University (3-1) and Olivet College (3-2). The Beavers improved to 12-4 on the season, thanks to seven straight wins, while Capital fell to 6-9 and Olivet dropped to 3-12.

The Bluffton University women's soccer team wrapped up non-conference play with a 2-1 loss to Bethany College on Saturday, Sept. 24. The Beavers fell to 1-5-1, while the Bison improved to 6-1-2.

Just over a minute into the match, the Bison took an early 1-0 lead, but Bluffton's Nina McGinn (Marion/Harding) found the back of the net, assisted by Emma White (St. Marys/Memorial), in minute 28 to tie the score 1-1 at the half.
