CONVOY–The Bluffton High School football team scored on a long fourth-period pass to rally past Crestview 17-14 in a seesaw Northwest Conference bout on a cool Friday night, September, 23.
The Pirates stayed in a first-place tie with Allen East atop the NWC with their third straight win as they improved to 3-0 in the league.
Bluffton is now 4-2 overall.
Slumping Crestview fell to 3-3 and 0-3 in the NWC with their third consecutive defeat after a 3-0 start.
The Bluffton High School girls soccer team whipped visiting league rival Delphos Jefferson 7-0 in a Northwest Conference mismatch Thursday evening.
The lopsided win upped the Pirate record to 9-2 overall and 4-0 in NWC play, good for first place. Meanwhile, the Wildcat girls fell to 3-5-1 and 1-2 in NWC action with the defeat.
Sami Scoles netted a hat trick to pace the victors, who led 4-0 at halftime. Scoles scored in the sixth, 34th and 50th minutes. Her last goal was assisted by Jordan Schweingruber.
The Bluffton High School golf team finished a solid fourth in the nine-team Northwest Conference championship meet Thursday, September 22, at Hickory Sticks Golf Course in Van Wert.
Leipsic captured the league title with 347 strokes. The Vikings narrowly defeated second-place Delphos Jefferson by just two shots. Lincolnview was a close third at 351 strokes.

Junior Brooke Camper posted the lone Pirate win at first singles by rallying to win a three-set battle. Camper beat senior Lauren Schoenberger 2-6, 6-2, 6-2.
The sophomore duo of Brooklyn Moser and Kaleigh Coffman lost a tough match at second doubles 6-4, 7-6 (9-7 tiebreaker).
The visiting Bluffton varsity volleyball team lost in straight sets to Crestview Thursday night in a Northwest Conference battle between two of the league leaders.
The 25-10, 25-15, 25-13 loss dropped the Bluffton record to 9-3 and 2-1 in the NWC. Crestview improved to 7-5 and 4-0 in NWC play with the victory.
The Pandora -Gilboa High School football team traveled to Vanlue on Friday night September 23,to take on the Wildcats in Blanchard Valley Conference action. P-G flew out to a commanding 35-0 lead after just one quarter of play on their way to an easy 49-6 win.
