The Bluffton High School boys tennis team lost its spring season opener 4-1 to visiting St. Marys 4-1 Tuesday evening, March 29.

The Pirate netters host Elida, another Western Buckeye League foe, at 4:30 p.m on March 30.

Visiting Carey defeated the Bluffton High School baseball team 7-2 in the season opener on a chilly Tuesday evening, March 29.

Blue Devil pitcher Jordan Vallejo hurled a complete-game victory. He struck out nine Pirates to post the win.

Four Blue Devils each collected two hits--Ethan Burton, Nate Crawford, Ethan Plott and Andrew Plott--to pace the victors.

Up next for the Bluffton nine is a date at non-league foe Liberty-Benton Wednesday, March 30.

The Bluffton University baseball team led 6-0 after three innings, but Otterbein came all the way back for a 16-12 victory at Memorial Field on Thursday, March 24, 2022. Bluffton saw its four-game winning streak snapped as the Beavers fell to 5-7 on the season. Otterbein improved to 10-5 overall.

On Saturday, March 19, two Bluffton High School students competed in the 2022 McDonald's Bill McClain Ohio High School State Powerlifting Meet, Division V, VI, and VII at Kenton High School.

Junior Rylee Setzer placed 3rd in the girls 155 lb. weight class. Her total weight lifted was 615 lbs.; squat 235 lbs.; bench 100 lbs.; deadlift 280 lbs. Setzer is a junior from Bluffton who attends Apollo in Health Science.

Freshman Avery Lamb placed 10th in the girls 145 lb. weight class.

Former Bluffton High School track athlete Trevor Bassit won a silver medal in the Men's 400 meters on Saturday, March 19, day two of the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Belgrade, Serbia.

The Bluffton University baseball team kicked off its home slate in style with a pair of convincing wins over Ohio Wesleyan on a beautiful Sunday, March 20, 2022. Bluffton upped its season mark to 5-6, while the Battling Bishops fell to 3-8.
