Boys' soccer: Pirates blank Paulding 6-0

Bluffton High School boys' soccer team scored 3 goals in first half and 3 goals in second half for 6-0 win over Paulding – the first game in Northwest Conference play for both teams.
 
Scoring for Bluffton:      
• Josh Begg scored 3 minutes into the match
• Douglas Nester headed in a goal at 33 minutes – assist by Luke Young
• Isaiah Schwab scored at 40 minutes - assist by Isaac Andreas
• Josh Begg again at 62 minutes
• Antony Kingsley headed in a sideline throw by Isaiah Schwab (assist) at 68 minutes

Football: Pirates have 6th straight win over C-R; first coaching win for Jeff Richards

For the sixth consecutive year, Bluffton defeated Cory-Rawson to open the season. 

The Pirates poured in three third quarter touchdowns to power to a 27-0 victory, the fourth time in five seasons BHS has shut out their neighbors to the north.  The win was the first career victory for head coach Jeff Richards.

Girls' tennis: It's Celina over Bluffton in a close match

Celina bested Bluffton girls' tennis team 3-2 in a Saturday meet.

Girls' soccer: It's Bath over BHS

Bluffton girls' soccer team played at Bath High School on Saturday.

Senior Sarah Theisen scored the first goal, Bath responded with 2, making the score 1-2 at the half. 

 Bath's 1st goal was due to a call of personal foul in the box on Junior Leah Conley. Their second goal was a free kick after another call of personal foul on Junior Kelli Leugers.

Bath scored again in the second half, Senior Sarah Theisen scored a second goal, but after more than 20 game saves, Bath scored a 4th goal against Senior goalkeeper, Jadyn Barhorst, and the Lady Pirates.

Bluffton High School boys' soccer team scored 3 goals in first half and 3 goals in second half for 6-0 win over Ottoville at the Elida Kick Off tournament Aug. 27 title game.

Girls' golf: Koenig fires a 45 in BHS win over Elmwood

Bluffton girls' golfers defeated Elmwood on Aug. 25 at the Bluffton Golf Course by a 197 to 229 score. Alivia Koenig was medalist with a 45. Individual results are in the attachment.
