Two seniors and a junior will lead the Bluffton High School girls tennis team that opens play against Shawnee at 4:30 p.m. Monday at Harmon Field courts.

Ashlin Gable and Kristi Geiser are seeking their fourth letters in leading a largely inexperienced team under new coach Jesse Sensenig. Both are three-year starters, while junior Emily Sprague is a two-year veteran.

Bluffton Athletic Boosters fall meet the team event, set for Sunday, Aug. 21, at The Centre, has the following times listed for its event.

Following each coach's name is the meet the team introduction time. The time listed below the coach's name is the "coaches corner time," when the coaches are interviewed on the radio.

Football
Coach Lee, 1 - 1:40 p.m.
Coaches' corner time, 2 p.m.

Cheerleading
Coach Slechter, 1:40 - 1:55 p.m.

The Bluffton High School alumni soccer game is 4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 13, at Steinmetz Field. At 5 p.m. is an alumni vs. BHS varsity scrimmage.

The Icon is inviting Bluffton HS sports fans to consider writing sports stories this fall for various Pirate teams. The Icon is unable to pay for the stories, but we can get you into the games free.

The Bluffton High School boys' soccer team is seeking a junior varsity coach. Anyone interested may contact the Athletic Director at Bluffton, Alex Hanna. Contact Email: [email protected].

Sign-ups are currently underway for this season's Bluffton Buccaneers midget football team according to Mac Davies, coach. The team is open to youth entering grades 3 to 6.
