Village grapples with flooding concerns from citizens

The inevitable question: "What can the village do about flooding in Bluffton?" was posed to Bluffton council on Monday.

Although it's on everyone's mind, Morgan and Patsy Davies, who have lived on the corner of Cherry and Vance for over 30 years and have experienced lots of high water in their time there, asked council if anything that can be done to fix the problem.

Fred Rodabaugh, Bluffton mayor, answered by stating that nothing is going to happen very quickly.

Here's a photo that has us scratching our heads. Is it a Bluffton police officer, and if it is, could it be Wade Bechtel? It resembles Wade, but we're aren't completely convinced. Icon viewers help us with this one. Paul Diller took the photo and it was provided by Jim Diller.

Note from Darlene Hey: I looked at the photo, but I know that it isn't my dad, Wade Bechtel. I'm not sure who it is. I can remember seeing him , but I can't give you any names. Sorry!

There's more and here it comes:

Es macht mir nuet aus. It makes no difference to me.

Bluffton Chamber reorganize bylaws to emphasis its continuing local focus

Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce members voted to change the chamber's bylaws on March 11 to better reflect the chamber's continuing focus on a local emphasis.

Those changes better reflect the emphasis of the chamber, according to Fred Steiner, chamber CEO.

The changes came as a result of a chamber brainstorming session in April of 2010. Several suggestions came from that session and several ideas have already been implemented including the recent bylaw changes.

The changes approved on March 11 follow:
