Pioneers capitalize on Bluffton miscues in sweep of Beavers (softball)

The Bluffton University softball team ran into a hot-hitting Transylvania University squad on Saturday, April 2, 2011. Transylvania swept the Beavers as Bluffton dropped to 10-11 on the season and 3-3 in Heartland Conference action. Transylvania upped its record to 10-11-1 overall and 3-1 in the HCAC.

Friends of the Library planning community garage sale in May

Want to hold a garage sale with plenty of shoppers and minimal expense? Want to help support your public library? Join the Friends of the Bluffton Public Library for the third annual Community Garage Sale on May 19, 20 and 21.

Maps highlighting individual sale locations, a list of addresses with sale descriptions, media coverage and classified advertising will be coordinated by the Friends. To appear on the map and list, participants must register by May 4.

Without fanfare on April 6, Darrell Groman will mark his 25th anniversary of opening an optometric practice in Pandora.

He might pause between patients, ranging from age 4 to 84, to eat some cake and reflect upon the past quarter century of offering vision care which began in the rural village of population 1,000 on the first Wednesday of April in 1986.

Transylvania offense too much for Beavers in series opener (baseball)

The Bluffton University baseball team traveled to Transylvania University to take on the Pioneers in a Heartland Conference matchup on Friday, April 1, 2011. The Beavers fell behind 12-0 after the second inning as Transylvania took game one of the HCAC series by a final score of 20-11.
