Enjoy the last day of summer. During the final week of summer the high temperatures were stuck in the 80s and the lows in the 50s. Here are the highs and low for Sept. 14 to 20, according to Guy Verhoff, Pandora weather observer.

The Bluffton High School Class of 1947 held a reunion in the town hall on Saturday noon, Sept. 18. Twenty class members were present, plus spouses and friends.

BHS number 1 and 2 tennis doubles keep winning

Despite sweeping the doubles matches, the Bluffton High School girls tennis team dropped a close 3-2 match to Celina here Tuesday.

Ashlin Gable and Emily Sprague continued their winning ways at No. 1 doubles, while Kristi Geiser and Liz Diller captured a long two-setter for the other Pirate points.

Shannon Koch lost a marathon match at No. 1 singles, while Amanda Solmonson and Rachel Sehlhorst also lost singles matches.

The Friends of the Bluffton Public Library group is holding its fall book sale now until Sept. 24 in conjunction with the library's 75th anniversary. The sale will take place at Bluffton Public Library during regular library hours. All items will be available for a monetary donation. The Icon saw this plate in front of the Shannon Theatre earlier this week. It's from Putnam County, but we have no idea of its meaning.

P-G cheerleaders perform Friday night

On Friday, Sept. 24, the midget, junior high and high school cheerleading squads from Pandora-Gilboa will perform at halftime with the Pandora-Gilboa Marching Band.

"This is our fifth year joining the band for a performance," said Maranda Miller, cheerleader advisor. "This year the girls will not only be doing one dance but all three (China Grove, Hang on Sloppy, and our Fight Song)."
