Pirate girls soccer seeded 4th in NCOSA

The Bluffton High School girls soccer team was seeded fourth in the tough eight-team Div. V sectional drawing Sunday, October 6. Bluffton hosts sixth-seeded local rival Allen East (6-8-1) in the first round of tournament play Tuesday, October 15 at 6 p.m.

The Pirate girls defeated AE 3-0 on Sept. 17 in Bluffton, and also eliminated the Mustangs in the district semis last year. AE senior standout Rilynn Jones has scored 22 goals and dished out 15 assists this season. Junior Rylie Jordan has netted a dozen goals.

Pirate football shuts out Knights, stays undefeated

CONVOY – The unbeaten Bluffton High School football team dominated host Crestview 42-0 in a Northwest Conference contest Saturday evening, October 5.

The rugged Pirate defense limited the Knights to just 95 total yards as they posted their second consecutive shutout.

The defending league co-champion Pirates improved to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the NWC with the lopsided road win. Bluffton remains tied for first in the league with fellow unbeaten Columbus Grove (7-0, 4-0 NWC) as the two rivals continue on their week 10 collision course.

Pirate girls soccer shuts out Kalida

Bluffton hosts AE in sectional 1st round

KALIDA - The visiting Bluffton High school girls soccer team won a defensive 1-0 battle at tough non-conference foe Kalida Saturday, October 5.  

The Pirate record improved to 9-4-1 overall after the win. The PCL-leading Wildcat girls dropped to 11-3 with the shutout loss. 

The game was scoreless at halftime and well into the second half.

Bluffton Lions invitation to Artificial Intelligence program

12 noon on Tuesday, October 15, Bluffton Town Hall

Courtnee R. Morris will be the featured speaker at the Bluffton Lions Club meeting on October 15. Morris is the Technology Coordinator for the Bluffton Exempted Village Schools (BEVS) and will speak about Artificial Intelligence.

The meeting will be held on the third floor of Bluffton Town Hall and is open to the public.

Bluffton University to become Bluffton College post-merger

On October 5, Bluffton University and University of Findlay announced that following the completion of the proposed merger of the two institutions, Bluffton University will return to its previous name, Bluffton College.
