Pirate football runs past Ada, to stay unbeaten

ADA–The Bluffton High School football team dominated local rival Ada in their last Northwest Conference matchup to spoil the Bulldog Homecoming on a warm Friday night, September 22.

The big-play Pirate offense scored two early touchdowns, and Bluffton was in control throughout after leading 27-0 at halftime.  

Junior back Landen Worcester authored four TD runs and racked up 211 yards rushing to lead the potent Pirate ground attack.

Bluffton improved to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in the NWC with the lopsided win.

Ada fell to 2-4 overall and 0-3 in the NWC after suffering their third consecutive defeat.

Business students take a lesson from Bluffton businesses

Ten University of Findlay students are being introduced to “the real world of business” as Dana Scholars. The select group was recently treated to a view of the small, local end of the spectrum courtesy of Bluffton businesses. Edward Jones financial advisor Ryan Demarco and his wife Alicia, Pete and Kim Suter of Shirley’s Gourmet Popcorn Co. and the Shannon Theatre, and Jonah Agner and Nancy Corle-Agner of Greenhorn restaurant and The Food Store hosted the students on their premises and spoke about their career paths.

Pirate volleyball stays hot, sweeps Ada

The Bluffton High School volleyball team kept its long win streak alive with a sweep at outgoing Northwest Conference rival Ada on Thursday evening, September 21.

The Pirates ran their win string to 11 matches with a convincing 25-18, 25-19, 25-16 road victory. Bluffton improved to 13-2 overall and 3-0 in the NWC after the win.

“Ada is always very competitive but we had a few more hitters,” said Pirate head coach Kevin King. ”Karlie Lora had a good match. We had some serve errors, but we also served nine aces.”

Bluffton girls soccer blanked by unbeaten O-G

The Bluffton High School girls soccer team ran into a buzzsaw at undefeated Ottawa-Glandorf in a non-conference match Thursday evening,  September 21, at Titan Stadium.

O-G built a 4-0 halftime lead and rolled to a 7-0 victory.

Pirate girls tennis beats Rams

The Bluffton High School girls tennis team stayed hot with a 3-2 win over visiting Upper Sandusky Thursday evening,  September 21.

The Pirate netters improved to 6-6 with their third straight victory in four days this week.

Pirates 8th at NWC golf meet; Speicher makes 2nd team

The Bluffton High School golf team finished eighth in the annual nine-team Northwest Conference championship tournament Thursday,  September 21, at the Delphos Country Club.

Delphos Jefferson won the tournament crown with 348 strokes.
