Ash Wednesday will be observed on February 22 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 North Main Street, Jenera. The service, led by Pastor Matt Nowak, will be based on John 11 under the theme:  "His final steps led to a tomb."  The students of Trinity School will sing "Glory Be to Jesus."  Hymns by the congregation include: "As Surely as I Live, God Said;" "Be Still, My Soul;" and "I Lay My Sins on Jesus."

Chaplain Gary Dipnarine of Bluffton American Legion Post 382 has announced a worship service to mark the Sacrifice of Four Armed Forces Chaplains during World War II, which will take place during the Sunday, Feb. 5, 2023 worship service at the Beaverdam Church of Christ, 308 East Main St.

The public is invited to attend the service, which begins at 10:30 a.m.

Legion officials and clergymen are planning special programs for the observance of the 80th Anniversary of the sinking of the USS Dorchester and the heroism demonstrated by the four chaplains.

GriefShare, a support group for those who have lost a loved one whether that loss is recently or a more extended time, is returning to Bluffton.

Mornings with Mommy is a fun and easy way to enjoy activities with your infant through kindergarten age children (ages 0-6 years) and meet other moms. Dads, Grandmas, Grandpas, and Nannies are welcome, too! 

A special afternoon service by the students of Trinity Lutheran Church and School, Jenera, called "Illustrations of Immanuel" will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 23, in the church at 301 North Main Street, Jenera. 

Organizers note, “Students from Kindergarten through 8th grade will tell of God's promises to His people in the Old Testament times, the birth of Jesus and His death and resurrection. The illustrations will be in the form of Word and Christmas hymns and high school students will do narration. ‘Silent Night’ will be sung in German and English.”

County Line Church, 4227 N. Hardin Rd (County Line Road), has moved their VBS program to winter. A free Winter Bible School program will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesdays, starting January 11 for six weeks (through February 15). 

The program is free and open to children 3 years old through 5th grade.
