The cold rain on October 29 did not prevent a crowd of costumed kids from descending on the nearly 20 Trunk or Treat stops that were prepared by the congregation of Ebenezer Mennonite Church, 8905 Columbus Grove Rd., Bluffton. 

The trunks ranged from the Fruit of the Spirit decorated with balloons, to a Christmas themed trunk manned by the youth group, to a giant Cookie Monster. (Continues)

Rev. Bob Butcher will lead a Community Bible Study each Sunday in November 2023 (Nov. 5,12,19 and 26) from 6:00-7:15 p.m. in the basement fellowship hall of Bluffton Presbyterian Church, 112 N. Main St.

The study will explore the mystery of the person of Jesus Christ as told by the Gospel according to St. John.

Mornings with Mommy is a fun and easy way for you to enjoy activities with your infant through kindergarten age children (ages 0-6 years) and meet other moms. Dads, grandmas, grandpas, and nannies are welcome, too!

These educational play-dates will begin on September 18 and 19 and continue on the first and third Monday and Tuesday of each month from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 North Main Street, Jenera. A second session on Monday is from 11:00-12:00 a.m.

A Community Breakfast (pancakes, french toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, coffee, milk, and orange juice) will be held at Bluffton First Methodist Church, 116 Church St., to benefit the youth group, mission trips, and to be able to help families in need in the community.

Trinity Lutheran School, Jenera, celebrates 75 years with the 2023-2024 school year. The school was started in Jenera in the fall of 1948 in the church's basement. The first teacher was Mr. Wayne Wiechmann, assisted by Pastor Walter Voss. There were eight grades and kindergarten. 

The support group GriefShare is returning to Bluffton beginning on September 7. GriefShare is for those who have lost a loved one, whether that loss is recent or not. The group meets weekly with the aim to be a warm, caring environment that will help participants on the long path through grief toward healing and hope for the future.
