Shoe collection for St. Mary's youth programs

St. Mary's Catholic Church of Bluffton is seeking clean new and gently used shoes for a shoe drive fundraiser, going on until April 19. The shoes will be sent to help support micro business owners in other countries. Organizers note that the donations "stimulate other economies along with keeping shoes out of landfills."

The goal is to collect more than 2,500 pairs of shoes to help support St. Mary's
youth programs. A drive-through collection will take place on March 25, from 9:00 a.m.-noon at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 160 N. Spring St.

Other drive through dates are April 1 and April 15 from 9:00 a.m.-noon.

There are also drop boxes inside St. Mary’s Catholic Church and at Citizen’s National Bank, 102 S. Main St.
