"Ring" in the holiday season hosted by St. John's United Church of Christ.

The Findlay Community Bell Choir will perform a concert at the church at 7 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 4, according to Rev. Carol Clements, pastor.

"If you have never heard these bells before, you will be amazed at what the choir can do with them. If you have heard them before, you will be in for a wonderful treat. We hope to see you there," she said.

Rev. Dr. Matthew Zuehlke

Bluffton's community Thanksgiving service, planned by the Bluffton Area Ministerial Association, will be at 7 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 20, at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

The Rev. Dr. Matthew Zuehlke, pastor of Bluffton Presbyterian Church, is the preacher.

An offering taken will assist the Bluffton Community Assistance Program's food pantry. In addition, non-perishable food items will be accepted.

The women of English Lutheran Church will lead a thankoffering worship service at 9 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 13, in support of the quilt ministry of the congregation's sewing group.

Every year the English Lutheran sewing group puts together anywhere from 90 to 100 quilts, which are then sent off to help persons in need throughout the world through the relief agencies associated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, such as Lutheran World Relief, Lutheran Disaster Response and the World Hunger Appeal.

Grace Mennonite Church, Pandora, will hold a holiday bake sale, book sale, garage sale and breakfast, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 18-19, at the church in Pandora.

The bake sale and book sale will take place on Friday from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Books are from the Faith and Life Books and Gifts Shop, Berne, Ind., Proceeds of the bake sale will benefit the Grace youth group activities.

Ten percent of the book sales will be donated to the Pandora Community branch library.

Bluffton Trinity United Methodist's annual coat give-away is Saturday, Nov. 12, from 9 a.m. to noon at the church located on State Route 103, rural Bluffton.

A pancake breakfast will be served during the event.

Anyone wishing to donate coats may drop them off at the following Bluffton locations:

  • Bluffton Public Library
  • Luke's
  • The Sports Warehouse

The 48th annual Festival of Missions will be held Nov. 13-20 at Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Bluffton.

The theme this year is: "Jesus, You are Worthy,"based on Revelation 5:9."

"....You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation."
