Following today’s worship service, First Mennonite Church began the first step of “Flooring to Flourishing,” a renovation of its sanctuary.
Volunteers moved pews from the sanctuary into the fellowship hall and several classrooms. This week, Lima Pipe Organ will remove the organ and pipes for the duration of the work.
When the project is complete near the end of summer, the sanctuary will have been painted, new carpeting and wood floors installed, larger hymnal racks underneath the pews, and a redesign of the steps in the chancel area.

"Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey," will be shown Friday, June 15, beginning at 9:15 p.m. Follow the adventures of three pets as they go searching for their owners. The movie is rated G.
As a nod to the vintage cars that will be cruising down Bluffton's streets that evening, freshly made popcorn will be available for only 10 cents a bag.
In the event of rain, the movie will be shown in the church sanctuary.
The Pandora United Methodist Church will be hosting a free community meal on Wednesday, June 27, from 5:30-7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington St. The meal this month is provided by the mission committee. The menu is hamburger sandwich, baked potato bar, mixed fruit, dessert and beverage.
Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 N. Main St., Jenera, will add a mid-week service during the summer.
The casual Tuesday evening services will begin on June 5 and continue every Tuesday through Labor Day week. They will begin at 7:30 p.m. and be a shortened version of the previous Sunday’s service.

Trinity Lutheran School’s graduation will be held on Sunday, May 27, in the 10:30 a.m. service at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 North Main St., Jenera.
Ayden Kretz is the class speaker. The class members are: Kamielle Laine Alge, Octavia Lee Hassan, Grace Allison Insley and Ayden Lawrence Kretz.
The students in Kindergarten through eighth grade will sing “I Believe.”
