St. John’s United Church of Christ announces its Christmas celebrations.
To begin the celebration of Christmas, the chancel choir of St. John’s United Church of Christ will present the cantata, “Morning Star,” composed by Lloyd Larson.
The performance will be held on Sunday, Dec. 18, at 10:30 a.m. The choir is under the direction of Dr. Crystal Sellers-Battle. St. John’s United Church of Christ is located at the corner of Jackson Street and College Avenue in Bluffton.
The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive Thursday, Dec. 15 from noon-6 p.m. at First Mennonite Church, 101 S. Jackson St., Bluffton.
Donors should enter by the double doors on Jackson Street -- directly across the street from Bluffton Elementary/Middle School. First Mennonite is handicapped accessible.

“The Song of Zechariah” is the focus of the Wednesday, Dec. 7, 7 p.m. Advent service at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jenera. The choir will sing “Praise to the Lord” and the church will be decorated for Christmas. Everyone is welcome as we hear how happy Zechariah was following the birth of his son John, who would go before the Lord to prepare the way for Him.
A children's Christmas program, "The Good News Flash" will be presented on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 6:30 p.m. in the Crossroads Ministry Center at Ebenezer Mennonite Church.
The program includes children sharing in drama and song about the Christmas story. The church is located at 8905 Columbus Grove-Bluffton Road, Bluffton.
Pandora United Methodist Church Choir will presents Christmas cantata, “Shout the Good News!” written by Lloyd Larson on Sunday, Dec. 11, during the 9:30 a.m. worship service, according to Rev. Duane Kemberley, pastor.
The church service and refreshments in the fellowship hall afterwards are open to the public. The choir is directed by Pat Basinger and accompanied by Pat Michel. The church is at 108 E. Washington Street in Pandora.
Pandora United Methodist Church will be hold a free community meal on Wednesday, Dec. 14 from 5:30-7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington Street, Pandora. The meal this month is provided by Riley Creek Pharmacy/Pharmacy Solutions. The menu is sloppy joe sandwich, hot dogs, cheesy potatoes, veggie tray, fruit, cookies and hot chocolate.
Also, Santa will visit from 6-7 p.m. Every child will get their picture taken with Santa and receive a gift from Santa. First National Bank will have cookies to decorate and crafts for kids!
