Pandora UM community meal November 30

Pandora United Methodist Church will hold a free community meal on Wednesday,  Nov. 30  from 5:30-7 pm. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington Street, Pandora. 

The meal this month is provided by The First National Bank of Pandora. The menu is shredded chicken sandwich, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, assorted desserts and beverage.

Gracia Burnham featured speaker at Ebenezer Festival of Missions

53rd annual missions event

Gracia Burnham is the featured speaker during the concluding weekend of Ebenezer Mennonite Church's 53rd Festival of Missions.

She will speak at 9 a.m., 10:15 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13. Gracia is the widow of Martin Burnham. For 17 years, Gracia and Martin served with New Tribes Mission in the Philippines.

On May 27, 2001, while celebrating their 18th wedding anniversary at Dos Palmas Resort off Palawan Island, the Burnhams were taken captive by a militant group of Muslims called the Abu Sayyaf Group.

Pandora United Methodist hosts senior lunch Nov. 16

Pandora United Methodist Church will hold a fellowship lunch for senior adults on Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 11:30 a.m. at the Lunch Box Restaurant, 200 E Main St., in Pandora. All are welcome. Everyone will pay for their own meal and will order from the menu.

Riley Creek UMC hymn sing Oct. 30

Riley Creek United Methodist Church, rural Pandora, holds afternoon of hymns and songs on Sunday, Oct. 30, at 3 p.m.  

"Music from many eras will weave together a tapestry of faith and the message of redemption.  Bring your voice in whatever condition it is and raise a joyful noise together with a great chorus of others as we sing the hymns that are the soundtrack of our heritage and inspiration,” said Rev. Duane Kimberley, pastor.         

HIS Blank Canvas, an art ministry, will be shared at the event.

Fall festival at Bethel UMC, Mt. Cory, on Sunday

Chicken barbecue and trunk or treat on Oct. 29

On Sunday Oct. 23, , the Mount Cory United Methodist Church will hold a fall festival, open to the public, at the Bethel United Methodist Church, 201
W. Washington St., Mount Cory.

The festival is from 1 to 4 p.m. and includes  games, Romick train rides prizes, petting zoo, friendly clowns and much more.

Chicken barbecue Oct. 29
A chicken barbecue will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
at the Bethel Family Life Center.  Meals are $8 and include, one-half chicken,
au gratin potatoes, applesauce, roll and dessert.

Weekly study open to the public at English Lutheran Church

"Speaking the Truth in Love: Understanding and Engaging Islam and Our Muslim Neighbors" is the theme of a four-session study taking place this fall at English Lutheran Church.

"There are so many wide-ranging stereotypes and misconceptions about Islam and Muslims in our culture right now," says Rev. Kevin Mohr, pastor of English Lutheran Church.
