Trinity Lutheran observes Shipwreck Sunday on Sept. 20

> On Sunday, September 20, members of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 North Main Street, Jenera, will observe Shipwreck Sunday.

On September 17, 1831, forefathers of Trinity members were on a ship called the Famous Dove which was bringing them to America from Germany.  There was a terrible storm and those on board prayed and sang hymns.

Pandora UM free community meal Sept. 30

The Pandora United Methodist Church will be hold a free community meal on Wednesday, Sept. 30 from 5:30-7 p.m.. In the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington Street, Pandora. The meal this month is provided by the Rebecca Circle  and  the menu is ham, scalloped potatoes, corn, dessert and beverage.

Volleyball falls to Heidelberg and DePauw

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Coming off a rough Friday night, the Beavers continued with the Sommer Center Spiketacular against Heidelberg and DePauw on Saturday, Sept. 5. The Beavers started the morning off by taking the first set from Heidelberg, 25-19, before the Student Princes fought back to take sets two (25-20) and three (25-22).

Swiss Mennonite celebrate 175th anniversary of first Mennonite church here

A celebration of the 175th anniversary of the founding of the first Mennonite Church in the Bluffton-Pandora area involved a daylong event on Sunday, Aug. 30. Several hundred persons attened.

Bluffton Swiss Community Historical Society sponsored the celebration. Activities took place at the site of the original log church, near 17876 Road 4, Pandora.

The celebration included a worship service, lectures, displays, hymns singing, and a traditional Swiss meal held under a large tent.

First Mennonite offers 5-week Sunday school class for college/university students

First Mennonite Church will offer a five-week Sunday school class for college and university students, beginning Sept. 27, from 9:15-10:15 a.m.

Mt. Cory and Pleasant View UM begin new bible study

The Mount Cory and Pleasant View UM Churches will begin a new program
beginning Wednesday, Sept. 2, called "Worship on Wednesdays" (WOW.)  The program and bible study will be available for people of all ages.

The bible study will use Max Lucado and Randy Frazee's book "The Story,"
which is a study of the whole Bible from Genesis to Revelation in story form.  WOW is open to the public and will be held at 7 p.m. at the Bethel Family Life Center, 201 W.
Washington St., Mount Cory.
