Sunday AM community worship focus on VBS theme

Bluffton Area Ministerial Associations (BAMA) will hold its annual community worship service at 9 a.m., Sunday, July 26, on the Bluffton Presbyterian lawn.

Rev. David Good, pastor of Bluffton Presbyterian, said, "The service will focus on the Vacation Bible School, which has been this week. The Theme is “Bible Blast to the Past,” and will feature songs by the children who participated in VBS."

Seven area churches partnered in this summer’s Bluffton Community Vacation Bible School hosted by Bluffton Presbyterian Church July 19-23.

Over 120 children age 4 through fifth grade participated.

This year’s curriculum featured Bible Blast from the Past by Standard Publishing. Each day began with an introduction to the Bible story and daily theme, followed by participation at other sites including:

• Timeless Truth Tent where kids will explore the Bible story in a variety of interactive ways;

Bible School Monday-Friday, August 3-7 from 6-8 p.m. at the Mt. Cory UM Church, 300 N. Main St, Mount Cory.

Community worship service on Presbyterian lawn Sunday

The Bluffton community worship service will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday, July 26, on the Bluffton Presbyterian Church lawn.

Participants are asked to bring lawn chairs and blankets.

In case of inclement weather, the service will be held in the middle school cafetorium.

120 area youth enrolled in Community VBS

Over 120 area children are traveling through time to learn about God's love through the Community VBS program this week. 

Bluffton Presbyterian Church is the host church for the Bible Blast to the Past event.  Six other area churches are providing volunteer leadership for Bible story, crafts, mission and service, snacks and a special preschool track.

Sponsoring churches include: English Lutheran Church, Emmanuel UCC, First Mennonite Church, First United Methodist Church, St.John's UCC, St. Mary's Catholic Church and Bluffton Presbyterian Church.

Pandora UM offers free community meal July 29

The Pandora United Methodist Church will hold a free community meal on Wednesday, July 29 from 5:30-7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington Street, Pandora. The meal this month is provided by the Hilty Home and the menu is chicken salad croissant, potato salad, baked beans, potato chips and strawberry shortcake and beverage.
