Members of the Mount Cory United Methodist Church are transforming the santuary for next week's Vacation Bible School, "Son Rise National Park."
Pre-registration will be Sunday, Aug. 2, at the Mount Cory Church, 300 N. Main, M at 6 p.m. Bible School will run Aug 3 - 7 from 6 - 8 p.m. There will be a VBS program for the parents during the regular services on Sunday, Aug. 9, at 10:30 a.m. at the Church, followed by a Community Picnic at the BFLC following worship services.
Ebenezer Mennonite Church Drama Ensemble presents a dinner theatre at the church in August. Proceeds go to the Bluffton Community Assistance Program’s food pantry.
The performance of “Suspect Hollywood,” by Nancy Bond, a one-act mystery, directed by Kevin Gratz, will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 7-8-9, beginning at 6 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
Performances are in the Crossroads Center at the church, located at 8905 Columbus Grove Road, Bluffton. Tickets are on sale in the church office at $10 each.

Plans are underway for a 5K Glow Run at Pandora Missionary Church on Saturday, July 25, at 9:40 p.m. The theme of this year’s race is, “Light Up the Dark,” and will feature various glow aspects along the course, including luminaries, glow attire, and illuminated Bible verses.
“This event is truly unique. It is intended to be fun while at the same time serving a purpose—bringing God’s light and love to our community and those around us,” explains Dan Gratz, coordinator of the event.
Bluffton Area Ministerial Associations (BAMA) will hold its annual community worship service at 9 a.m., Sunday, July 26, on the Bluffton Presbyterian lawn.
Rev. David Good, pastor of Bluffton Presbyterian, said, "The service will focus on the Vacation Bible School, which has been this week. The Theme is “Bible Blast to the Past,” and will feature songs by the children who participated in VBS."
Seven area churches partnered in this summer’s Bluffton Community Vacation Bible School hosted by Bluffton Presbyterian Church July 19-23.
Over 120 children age 4 through fifth grade participated.
This year’s curriculum featured Bible Blast from the Past by Standard Publishing. Each day began with an introduction to the Bible story and daily theme, followed by participation at other sites including:
