Bluffton's Maple Crest senior living community kicked off National Assisted Living Week week with a performance of bagpipes played by Stephan R. Johnson of Ada. The week was Sept. 7-13 and the week's theme was "the magic of music!"
Johnson was formally dressed in his Irish kilt (the Irish wear solid colored kilts) with every detail in place from the knife in his sock to the shoes with no tongue (so muddy water can drain out).
After two tough road games the Bluffton Pirates welcomed Delphos Jefferson Wildcats to their first home game of the season. Missed opportunities played a big role causing the (1-2) Pirates to lose to the (3-0) Wildcats 22-19.

On Monday Bluffton council will act on the second of three readings of a 21-page ordinance that clearly spells out the self-governing rules of that body.
It is the most comprehensive and detailed ordinance in recent memory – perhaps the first-ever - that covers in such detail the rules and job description of council members.
